What should I do about my LVNV FUNDING LLC law suit?

I've been sued for the first time ever! They are suing me on 3 charges. I've read a bit about LVNV and it looks like they like to intimidate, and are not accessible. PLEASE HELP ME! I'd like to pay the original debt $2000.00 not $3011.00 that they are charging me plus attorney's fees and such.
