Do you think that we should help poor peolple....?

It is good to help poor people. Helping is good but tolerating laziness is another thing. A priest once told us (I was a member of a religious group, but now I am not that active anymore) that it's okay to help people but what is best is that when we help it should be that we help them to help themselves. Simply put, just don't give the poor folks fishes to eat, rather, teach them to fish. Because if we just give them fish or money, they will not try to make an effort to improve their lives. But if we teach them how to improve their life, they will be able to support themselves and not be too dependent on other people for their needs. Helping is good but always remember that when we help we must also teach them to be self-sufficient.
